I love big maps, and this one provides space for different strategies and avenues for attack. I enjoy the possibility for unlimited attack (with abandon and placement after attack), which allows for a well-aimed rampage if you do it right. The corridors and continents are well placed. You are also able to regroup and strengthen yourself after someone else's rampage, if you have armies in different locations
Great concept, but somehow I didn't like the layout or color choices. These are relatively minor issues, but I tend to go with board I like visually, and this one didn't jive with me. I also agree with Cooler's comments below on swing states.
Just like WGW, you can win even if you're almost out of the game, by focusing on getting all the cards in one turn. Despite that issue, which for some is a plus, I think it's a stellar board, and the only one I've seen to include our small but beautiful Caribbean and Central America countries.
Very interesting strategy board. Countries with many borders, which can be hard to defend in traditional Risk, are the ones that accumulate the most armies, so are premium ones to obtain early on. Continents are still very valuable, but you can't use normal Risk strategy here. Great team game.
I usually really enjoy large maps, but somehow the design of this board just doesn't do it for me, but that's a very personal view, I think others will see it differently.
It's a good concept, and I agree with Brandemonium's assessment about being able to use many different strategies to arrive at victory. Check it out and decide for yourself if you like it.
Love this board, very strategic and interesting design. It's important to learn what the dice odds are for each kind of attack. Then you map out an initial strategy to stop the British or plow through the American defense, and there are different ways of doing each one. Protect the bridges, use hills, woods to your advantage, and change your strategy when you have a new opening
